Handsome Fireplace - Just in Time for Atlanta Climate

Well, it took some doing, but we had our herringbone firebrick installed in preparation for those (2) cozy nights we have during the winter here in Atlanta. Looks so nice and centered!

Our mantel and surround fabricator came out with a template after we looked at photos and chatted about style and scale. This is a mock-up in styrofoam. The flaps on the right indicate the depth of the piece.



...and the guys came a week early with our beautiful surround. It's carved from Texas limestone. I love it more in person than I did looking at the original pictures! Wow!

All this needs is flames, a steak dinner and plenty of wine!

The Paint

Our kitchen is now green!

Bathroom Vanities

Our new handsome Master Vanities. Suddenly my old jammies and torn-up underwear don't seem presentable here.....

The Floors are Going In

Great Room

Great Room laced into the old Kitchen floor. Soto's guys are magicians! No header (transition strip) needed anywhere from old floor to new. Yipee!

The back stairs are getting a facelift that will pass inspection (unlike the original ones).

Just like a facelift, the layer of carpet gets re-installed.

More Rain

Yes - it's raining again! Atlanta has seen more rain this year than the past 100 years!

At least the side stoop is up....

The garage ans stoop will get paint after the monsoon ends.

The Master shower is now tiled.
